November 2009 - Congratulations to St. Joseph Hospital Affiliated Physicians Eugene Litwer, M.D.; Hal Shimazu, M.D.; and Samy Younis, M.D.—St. Joseph Hospital Affiliated Physicians of the Year in their respective practice areas for 2008. These physicians ranked the highest overall in Pay for Performance (P4P) Clinical Excellence and Patient Satisfaction scores over the past year. The awards were presented at the St. Joseph Hospital Affiliated Physicians annual meeting in November 2009.
This caliber of clinical excellence represents the highest level of preventive, acute and chronic care—specifically in areas such as breast and colorectal cancer screening, child immunizations and treatment of respiratory infections, as well as treatment of cardiovascular conditions, asthma and diabetes.
Scoring in the top 90th percentile in patient satisfaction, these physicians also ranked highest in areas such as the quality of doctor-patient interaction, timely care and service and coordination of care.
